Trinity gets another out of state test

After drawing more than 30,000 to last year's Labor Day Herbstreit Classic at Cowboys Stadium, Euless Trinity was again the designated draw this year.
Trinity will play Shiloh Christian of Springdale, Ark. _ a pass-happy spread formation team in the mold of Arkansas coaching guru Gus Malzahn, who coached coached five years at Shiloh and won state championships in 1998 and 1999 before going to nearby Springdale High School and coaching Mitch Mustain and parlaying all this success into a college coaching career.

Herbstreit officials had agreeement for the last month with Trinity coach Steve Lineweaver who wanted to return to Cowboys Stadium and play a national opponent rather than an in-state foe.
Herbstreit officials have talked with reigning national champion Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) and it's undecided if Aquinas will play in Texas or the Ohio series.
Denton Guyer and Cedar Hill are set for a second game at Cowboys Stadium. DeSoto has committed to be part of a tripleheader but an opponent is unknown. Among the likely candidates is Class 5A DII state champ Abilene.
Trinity defeated South Jordan Bingham (Utah), 42-21, in the first of four games in the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series that day. It was Bingham's only loss of the season as it went on to win the 5A state championship in Utah and finish 13-1.
Shiloh Christian has won six Arkansas state titles in the last 12 years, including three of the last four, and will return 16 starters. Shiloh Christian is led by standout quarterback Kiehl Frazier and defensive lineman Samuel Harvill.
