DL Brandon Reece, DL Maxie Calhoun, DL Derrick Hubert, LB Bakari Roberson
Houston Washington has SIX returning All-District selections from last year's team, that number is mind boggling considering the talent in HISD. Of those six hosea Atkinson, Damon Brown, and Gregory Williams were all first team. Maxie Calhoun, Brandon Reece, and Bakari Roberson all were second team. With the DL being so well stocked by returning stars, they have moved 6'4 240 pound DE Hosea Atkinson to linebacker to help him terrorize opposing offenses. Last year Washington's defense allowed opponents to average 196 yards per game which is a good number but not great. However when you throw in that Washington averaged 55.2 points a game you realize that a lot of those yards were when the game was no longer in doubt, then Washington's defense was very good last year. They will be much better this year with a great core to get them back to where they want to be. Congrats to the front seven of Houston Washington our choice for the TOP DEFENSIVE FRONT SEVEN IN THE STATE OF TEXAS!!
