TheOldCoach.coms 3A Top Twenty

For TheOldCoach.com, it's the Gilmer Buckeyes who'll start with the top ranking with traditional powers Celina and West Orange-Stark hot on the trail.
The run the Gilmer Buckeyes have put together this decade has been nothing short of amazing, but for all the success Gilmer's had they've only won a State Championship once. After a heartbreaking loss to Carthage in the Regional Finals last year Coach Jeff Traylor's squad is nearly a unanimous number one team and with Darian Godfrey back for a third season at QB GHS is poised for title number two.

Eight time state champion Celina comes in at number two and after winning a record third 7 on 7 State Championship this summer, the Bobcats are a popular choice to challenge Gilmer in the Division II bracket. Carthage who defeated Celina in the championship game comes in at five and the Bulldogs look to be on a collision course with Gilmer in Region 3 once again.
Fellow 9-3A opponent and defending Division I State Champion Prosper is at thirteen but with several perennial powers potentially in the Division I bracket rated in the top ten the road to back to back titles will be tough. Abilene Wylie, Cuero and Bellville are rated six, seven and eight respectively.
