The other Sims torches Katy

SAN ANTONIO - The Katy Tigers did a great job Saturday of containing Abilene High's biggest offensive weapon in running back Herschel Sims.
Fortunately for the Eagles, the arsenal included another Sims in quarterback Ronnell.

While Herschel Sims was "held" to 101 yards rushing and a touchdown in the Class 5A Division II championship game, Ronnell Sims torched the Tigers for 223 yards and three scores as the Eagles claimed the title with a 28-17 victory at the Alamodome.
Herschel Sims had a 12-yard gain on the first play of the game, but managed just 25 yards on his next nine carries before breaking loose for a 60-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
In the interim, Ronnell Sims did more than enough damage while the Tigers concentrated on shutting down his cousin, who was able to contribute in other areas, AHS coach Steve Warren said.
