Stacey Dillard Promoted Princeton opens
Princeton's Stacey Dillard was promoted to Athletic Director and informed his athletes this morning that he would no longer handle the duties of the head football coach.
Dillard tells TheOldCoach.com exclusively that the position will be posted today and internal candidates as well as applicants from outside the district would be considered.

In January of 2008, Princeton's school board hired McKinney Boyd assistant Stacey Dillard as its new head football coach and promoted girls' basketball coach Dexter Ivy to athletic director.
Dillard took over a Princeton program that was on a 32-year playoff drought.
The Panthers continued to struggle in Dillard's first season ending with a 1-9 record. In the second year Dillard under the Panthers competed well losing a couple of close games and finished at 3-7.
It was the third year that Dillard guided Princeton into the playoffs losing in Bi-District to a strong Dallas Madison squad 47-6. The Panthers continued the playoff run in 2011 going 7-5 ending their season with a second round loss to Van Alstyne.
This year Gainesville knocked the Panthers out of postseason play in the Class 3A DI Region II playoffs after beating Princeton 40-14 in second-round competition. The Panthers finished the season 10-2 overall.
Dillard lettered four years at Oklahoma as a defensive lineman. He also played for five seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants. He spent four years out of football but earned his coaching certificate at Texas A&M-Commerce while coaching at Whitewright.
Dillard was on Whitewright's staff for one year in 2001 and accompanied then-Tigers head coach Jodie Stringer to Sanger in 2002. He worked there for two years and then joined Robert Manley's staff at his alma mater, Clarksville, for two years before starting at Boyd in 2006, the year the school opened.
Dillard served as varsity defensive line coach and head junior-varsity coach in the 2007 season when Boyd reached the Class 4A state quarterfinals in only its second year of varsity play.
