Pinkston Tops Adamson 39-14

DALLAS- What started out as a great homecoming evening for the Dallas Adamson Leopards (2-5, 1-3) turned into a nightmare at Kincaide Stadium, as the Dallas Pinkston Vikings (5-2, 4-0) rolled to a 39-14 District 11-4A win. Pinkston QB Rickey White led the Vikings offensive attack with 204 total yards and 4 touchdowns. Pinkston scored the game's final 39 points after trailing 14-0 late in the first quarter.
Adamson took the game's opening kickoff and immediately took the lead scoring on a one yard run by Victor Garcia. The drive was highlighted by a 45 yard run by Qwaii Clark. Adamson made it 8-0 as Airron Cowthorn scored on the two point run. It appeared the Leopards would add to the lead as Pinkston fumbled on their first play from scrimmage but the Vikings defense bowed their neck and forced the Leopards out on downs.

Pinkston would again have the turnover bug strike as on their first play of their ensuing drive the Vikings fumbled again and Adamson recovered. The lead grew to 14-0 as Garcia hooked up with Selassie Hughes for a 22 yard scoring strike, the two point try failed and the lead was just fourteen.
After that score it was all Pinkston as the Leopards would not threaten to score again for the remainder of the night. The Pinkston barrage started at the end of the first quarter as White scored on a four yard run making it 14-7.
Early in the second quarter White had the back breaking run as with Pinkston being pinned at their own three yard line, he broke off a 97 yard run out running the AHS secondary to the end zone. Neither team was able to put up another score as at the half it was tied at 14, Pinkston had a chance to add to the lead at halftime but time ran out on the Vikings at the AHS six.
Pinkston took the opening kickoff of the second half and immediately stepped on the gas taking a 21-14 lead as Aaron Spikes hauled in a 67 yard touchdown pass from White. The turnover bug hit the Leopards on their next drive as Garcia was picked off by Fred McWilliams who turned it into a pick six going 41 yards to paydirt making it 27-14 PHS.
Junior speedster Freddie Warner got in on the scoring act returning an Adamson punt 89 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the third quarter which in essence put the game away at 33-14. Pinkston would add in one more score late as White had his third touchdown run again from four yards out making it 39-14, which would wind up as the final margin.
