CB Jared Mayden: The Sachse (TX) standout collected over 40 FBS offers throughout the recruiting process and decided to make his verbal commitment to the Oregon Ducks last week at The Opening. Mayden is rated as the No. 9 overall corner, the No. 147 prospect in the latest Rivals250 rankings and the No. 15 player on the Rivals.com Texas Spring Top 100 in the 2016 recruiting class. The Oregon coaches continue to recruit well in Texas, adding one of the most technically sound corners in the state and a player that could become a difference maker early in his college career. The 6-foot, 199-pound prospect chose the Ducks over his other finalists UCLA, Michigan, Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, and Alabama - giving Oregon a total of 14 commitments for the 2016 class.
SMU flips DFW prospect committed to Kansas
S Michael Clark: The Cedar Hill (TX) defender originally verbally committed to David Beaty and the new staff at Kansas in late May, but had a change of heart after receiving an offer from SMU and taking a few visits to campus recently. The proximity to home and relationship with the coaches were the main reasons Clark decided to flip his commitment. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect chose the Ponies over Kansas, his only other offer at the moment, and becomes the No. 18 overall commitment for SMU in the 2016 class.

DE Tevin Paul: The Austin (TX) Lake Travis defender made a verbal commitment to Cal this past week, choosing the Bears over other offers from SMU, Air Force, Northwestern and Tulsa. Paul is the No. 17 commitment for Cal in the 2016 class. The 6-foot-4, 288-pound prospect earned District 14-6A All District First Team Defense and All-Academic First Team honors this past season.

CB Collin Whitaker: The Plano (TX) Prestonwood Christian Academy defender made a verbal commitment to Army this past week, choosing the Black Knights over another offer from Penn and a handful of programs showing interest. The 5-foot-10, 188-pound corner became commitment No. 7 for Army in the 2016 class.
Rice adds two Texas OL
OG Joseph Dill: The Baytown (TX) Lee prospect made a verbal commitment to the Owls this past week, choosing Rice over other offers from UTSA and Texas State. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound guard earned District 22-6A All-District First Team Offense honors this past season.
OG Jack Greene: The Missouri City (TX) Ridge Point prospect made a verbal commitment to the Owls this past week. Rice was the only program to offer Greene at the moment, but coaches from Nebraska, Boston College, Duke and others were showing interest. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound guard earned District 23-5A All-District First Team Offense honors this past season.
The commitments from Dill and Greene last week give the Rice Owls 11 total commitments for the 2016 class.
