New commitments across Texas

A weekly feature, 'Commits This Week' will detail each new commitment from the state of Texas. Lets take a look at the 13 new commitments from around the state this week.

The Red Raiders add a pair of new commits:
Dallas (Texas) Skyline offensive center Clarence Henderson committed to Texas Tech this week. Henderson, an all-state second team selection on the offensive line, will actually play defensive end for the Tech coaches. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound prospect chose the Red Raiders over other offers from Arizona State, California, Colorado State, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Monroe, Rice, SMU, UCLA and Washington.
Dallas (Texas) Skyline defensive tackle Joseph Wallace committed to Texas Tech this week. The 6-foot-1, 315-pound prospect chose the Red Raiders over other offers from Air Force, Iowa State, UMass, SMU, UTSA and Washington.
Texas Tech now has 25 commitments for the 2016 recruiting class, the most verbal commitments in the nation so far this year.
Oklahoma lands Waco defensive back:
Waco (Texas) La Vega corner Parrish Cobb committed to Oklahoma this week. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect chose the Sooners over other offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado State, Houston, Minnesota, Oregon, SMU, Texas, Texas State, Tulsa and Wisconsin.
Oklahoma now has 10 commitments for the 2016 recruiting class.
Kansas lands Houston area linebacker:
Houston (Texas) North Shore inside linebacker Maciah Long committed to Kansas this week. The 6-foot-3, 234-pound prospect chose the Jayhawks over other offers from Arizona State, Houston, Missouri, Ohio State, SMU, Texas Tech, UCF and UCLA.
Kansas now has 10 commitments for the 2016 recruiting class.
Kansas State adds Dallas area defensive end:
Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne defensive end Jordon Robertson committed to Kansas State this week. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound prospect chose the Wildcats over other offers from Central Arkansas, Iowa, UMass, Nevada, Prairie View A&M, SMU, UTSA and Tulsa.
Kansas State now has eight commitments for the 2016 recruiting class.
Texas wide receiver chooses Georgia:
Temple (Texas) wide receiver Davion Curtis committed to Georgia this week. The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect chose the Bulldogs over other finalists Kansas State, Oregon State, Colorado State, Houston, Texas Tech and Wisconsin.
Georgia now has 15 commitments for the 2016 recruiting class.
Texas athlete headed to the Pac12
Humble (Texas) Atascocita athlete Patrick Taylor Jr. committed to Colorado this week. The 6-foot-3, 211-pound prospect chose the Buffaloes over other offers from Louisiana Lafayette, Colorado State, Nicholls, Texas State and UTSA. Taylor Jr. plays running back for Atascocita and the Colorado coaches plan to use him in a variety of ways at the college level.
Colorado now has eight commitments for the 2016 recruiting class.
Houston continues to land new commits:
Austin (Texas) John H. Reagan running back Mulbah Car committed to Houston this week. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound prospect chose the Cougars over other offers from BYU, Colorado State, Indiana, Iowa State, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon State, Purdue, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTSA and Utah State.
Houston now has 17 commitments for the 2016 recruiting class.
Other commitments from around the state:
DeSoto (Texas) offensive tackle Josiah Washington committed to Texas State this week. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound prospect chose the Bobcats over other offers from Illinois State, Louisiana Lafayette and Rice.
Aledo (Texas) safety Pat Peek committed to Fresno State this week. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect chose the Bulldogs over other offers from Louisiana Monroe, Missouri State and Texas State.
Shepherd (Texas) safety Royce See committed to Sam Houston State this week. The offer from the Bearkats was the only offer at the moment for the 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect.
Waco (Texas) La Vega offensive tackle Waahid Muhammad committed to Tulsa this week. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound prospect chose the Golden Hurricanes over other offers from Navy and Texas State.
Burleson (Texas) offensive guard Kody Russey committed to Louisiana Tech this week. The 6-foot-3, 270-pound prospect chose the Bulldogs over other offers from Louisiana Monroe and Texas State.
