Marley hoping for OSU offer

Denton Guyer continues to make their magical run through the playoffs this week as they look to take on a very talented Longview squad. One of the big reasons for their success has been their defense, in particular the play of inside linebacker Cody Marley. The 5-foot-11, 230-pound defender has been extremely pleased with his play and his team this season.
"It's been a good season. I've had a lot better season this year than last year. We're playing really good right now," Marley said.

The talented linebacker has put together quite a season as he has racked up close to 100 tackles, three sacks and three interceptions. Marley says the reason for his success as well as the success of his team was the work they put in during the offseason.
"I think our success is from our hard work in the offseason. I think our offseason workouts are better than anybody else's in the state," Marley said.
Those workouts have definitely paid off for Marley. Guyer enters the state semi-finals this week and plenty of colleges have taken notice of Marley recently.
"I've just been seriously talking to Oklahoma State and South Carolina recently. I've been getting a bunch of phone calls and handwritten letters from them. I'm actually going to try and go visit Oklahoma State next week. They said they have an open linebacker spot and they're looking at me pretty seriously," Marley said.
Currently Marley already holds offers from Tulane, UTEP and Utah State. However, it's the school that hasn't offered yet that really sparks his interest.
"I'd really like to go to Oklahoma State. I'd really like to go to Texas Tech, but they're full so that won't be an option unless someone doesn't make grades or something. My top team is going to be whoever decides to take a chance on me," Marley said.
