Lovejoy dimisses 3 seniors from team
Lucas Lovejoy coach Jim Bob Puckett dismissed three seniors including its starting quarterback from the team for violation of team rules. Lovejoy was without the three for its bi-district win over Dallas A. Maceo Smith.
Lovejoy seniors Cade Carter, Michael Means and Parker Norris have been staples for the football team for several years, yet when the Leopards' playoff run began Friday night against Smith they were not on the sideline.
That's because all three have been dismissed from the squad for the remainder of the season due to a violation of team rules stemming from the team's 68-0 victory over Nevada Community in the Nov. 5 regular season finale.
Lovejoy head coach Jim Bob Puckett initially declined to name the players kicked off the team when asked Friday afternoon. But in the wake of Friday night's game, when asked specifically if Carter, Means and Norris were the ones who violated team rules, Puckett confirmed that they were.
