FORT WORTH - It was the Wallace twins show on Thursday night at Handley Field in Fort Worth as Fort Worth South Hills ran their record to 6-0 and 2-0 in District 7-5A play with an easy 62-6 over Fort Worth Trimble Tech (4-3, 1-2).
Sophomore WR Tylan Wallace accounted for four touchdowns, an 84 yard touchdown run and three touchdown passes from twin brother Tracin Wallace to pace a Scorpions offense that scored on every possession in the first half as SHHS raced out to a 41-0 halftime lead and never looked back.
Tracin Wallace finished the night with 221 passing yards and five touchdowns while also rushing for 64 yards and a score for South Hills, who is off to their best start in school history. Aside from the three scoring tosses to his brother, Wallace threw scoring passes to Antwan Roberson and Treylon LaSalle.
Sophomore RB Kyran Jackson had a good night with 145 yards of offense and two rushing touchdowns as well. On the night South Hills racked up 495 yards of offense, with the only thing really slowing SHHS down being penalties as South Hills had 17 penalties for 180 yards.
Often overlooked because of their high powered offense, South Hills defense showed up big tonight as well as the Scorpions held Trimble Tech to just 98 yard of offense. Despite being outsized up front, South Hills utilized their speed to swarm to the ball and gang tackle Trimble Tech ball carriers.
"I'm happy we won and that we are 6-0, but we sloppy tonight," said South Hills HC J.J. Resendez, "The kids played hard but we made too many mistakes with penalties, we need to clean it up if we want to achieve the goals we've set."
