Begelton Paces West Brook

BEAUMONT -- Reggie Begelton hauled in two second half touchdown passes as to lead the Beaumont West Brook Bruins (7-2, 4-2) to an easy 35-3 win over the Channelview Falcons (1-8. 1-5) on Saturday afternoon at the beautiful Thomas Center. The West Brook defense was also outstanding , the strong effort was led by DE Ben Goodman how batted down several passes and LB Collin Garrett who used his great speed to make several outstanding open field tackles.
West Brook started off quick jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, on the game's opening drive the Bruins moved 63 yards on seven plays scoring on a five yard touchdown run by Percy Johnson. After a quick Channelview punt, the Bruins added to the lead on their next drive as senior QB Bruce Reyes scored on a sixty yard touchdown run to make it 14-0.

Adalverto Castaneda kicked a 22 yard field goal making it 14-3. Channelview had a chance to cut the lead even more after recovering a West Brook fumble, however Castaneda missed a 35 yard field goal and at the half West Brook's lead was just 14-3.
Channelview took the second half kickoff and immediately the game turned as LB Caleb Bluiett picked off Channelview QB Averion Hurts, setting the Bruins up with great field position. Reyes and Begelton would quickly hook up for a 23 yard touchdown strike to put West Brook up 21-3. Begelton would strike again twice more in the quarter on a 49 yard catch and run where he broke three tackles en route to the end zone. The final score came on a two yard touchdown run from senior Dylan Harvey to make it 35-3 after three quarters.
West Brook will close the regular season out next week at LaPorte, while Channelview's season will end next week at Galena Park North Shore.
