Fuller, whose brother and dad played and coached at Arlington High School, has been offensive coordinator at Arlington Bowie under Vols coach Kenny Perry the last four years. Fuller has been an assistant at Coppell and Colleyville Heritage.
Fuller's brother, Mike Fuller, is head coach at Colleyville Heritage. His father Dave Fuller is a coach in the Carroll ISD and has coached at numerous programs including Arlington and Southlake Carroll.
Fuller will bring an immediate knowledge of the Class 5A district as well as a multiple spread offense which has sparked Bowie's strong playoff runs in recent years.
Fuller was a star quarterback at Arlington in the early 1990s and set the city's single-season passing yardage record with 3,068 yards in 1992 as Arlington reached the state semifinals. Fuller played at Emporia (Kan.).
The 67-year-old Peach had been head coach at Lamar since it opened in 1970 and built it into one of the state's premier programs.
Peach became one of only a half-dozen Texas high school coaches to win 300 career games in 2008 but Peach was the first to win all his games in Class 5A _ the state's highest classification and most competitive.
After a 6-5 season at Lamar last season, Peach ends with a 310-123-6 record _ sixth on Texas' all-time coaching victories list led by G.A. Moore's 413 wins.
At Lamar, Peach qualified for the state playoffs 19 times. Lamar reached the 1990 Class 5A state final in which the Vikings lost to Aldine and the Vikings advanced at least four rounds deep in the state playoffs six times.
Lamar played in the state semifinals in 2000 and 2003 and had a 15-year playoff ualifying streak from 1988 through 2000.
