The Class A All State Team is loaded with small school players that may not compete on the collegiate level and all had memorable 2010 seasons.
The Class A Player of the Year Colin Dzuik of Falls City. Dzuik was named the Offensive Player of the Game in the Class A Division II State Championship after a 32-7 convincing win over Windthorst. Dzuik was also dubbed as the 16-A Division II District MVP doubling at running back and linebacker for the Beavers. Dzuik finished the season with 38 total touchdowns with 1938 yards rushing yards. Dzuik was equally effective on defense from his linebacker position.
The Class A Coach of the Year award will be given to both Rusty Nail, Mart, and Mark Kirchhoff, of Falls City.
Nail guided the Panthers to their fifth state championship while Kirchhoff won his first state championship as a coach and the first for Falls City.
Kirchhoff spent 10 years at Eden, including four seasons as head coach, before taking the Falls City head coaching job in 1996. Kirchhoff has put Falls City in the playoffs 12 times in 15 seasons despite coaching at a school with an enrollment that hovers around 110 students. He has won 127 of 180 games during that span.
Nail, besides having one of the most unique names in all of Texas high school football, has turned the Panthers have been one of the most consistently successful small-school programs in the state in recent years. Mart won state titles in 1999 and 1969 prior to Nail's arrival. Since Nail has been at the helm the Panthers have a record of 59-12 with three state titles.
Both championship squads are well-represented on the first and second teams.
"Class A has a strong tradition of championship football, outstanding athletes, and competitive programs.
